One of two spots at this year's Meltdown marking Yoko Ono's long-standing support of young and emerging artists, Baltic Fleet are the winners of the 2013 GIT Award, aka the 'Scouse Mercury', which celebrates the best new music from Liverpool.
Baltic Fleet is the moniker of multi-instrumentalist and DIY producer Paul Fleming who returned in 2012 with his second album 'Towers', the follow up to the critically acclaimed self-titled debut which was a Rough Trade Shop Record of the Year. Paul Fleming has brought together like-minded musicians to take Baltic Fleet on the road, and the band have since played around the UK and Europe: this year the band were invited to play with Public Service Broadcasting, Hookworms and will be playing the closing night of Liverpool Soundcity 2013.
Baltic Fleet will also be reappearing after Yoko Ono Plastic Ono Band for a post show set.
