Emio Greco - Rocco

Acclaimed choreographers Emio Greco and Pieter C Scholten depict their own visceral interpretation of the compelling, contentious bond between two battling brothers as Queen Elizabeth Hall is transformed for two nights only into a pulsating, action-packed boxing ring.

'Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee' said Mohammed Ali. Here dancers become boxers and boxers become dancers as the physical and psychological extremes of these two powerful disciplines play out with fast footwork and virtuoso tactics.

Inspired by Luchino Visconti's award-winning film Rocco e i suoi Fratelli about two boxer brothers in love with the same woman, it explores the layers of demands made on the minds and bodies of both dancer and boxer. The intense surrender which is evident in the boxing scenes of the film, finds its parallel in the physical dedication of the dancers.

Prepare for knock-out entertainment and get even closer to the action with ring-side seats on the stage itself.
