Southbank Centre is a world-famous arts centre on the South Bank of the Thames. Thousands of musicians, dancers and artists perform at Southbank Centre every year to millions of visitors. Southbank Centre includes - Royal Festival Hall, Queen Elizabeth Hall, the Purcell Room, the Hayward Gallery and the Saison Poetry Library.

We have a range of restaurants, bars, cafes and shops at Southbank Centre, with space for large groups, plus child-friendly menus and facilities, and host weekly food markets.

Opening Times

Royal Festival Hall: 10am – 11pm every day except Christmas Day. Free entry.

The Royal Festival Hall will be closed for a private events on the following dates:

From 3pm Weds 24 April & all day Thurs 25 April

All day & evening Sunday 12 May

Until 5pm Tues 9 July

The Poetry library will remain open on all dates with access from the Artist’s Entrance.

Queen Elizabeth Hall: Open times vary but usually open 90 minutes before events start and open all day in the summer.

Hayward Gallery: Open daily Mondays 12 - 6pm, Tuesdays – Wednesdays 10am – 6pm, late nights Thursdays and Fridays until 8pm

By bus
Bus number RV1 stops on Belvedere Road.
Bus routes 76, 77, 211, 341, 381, 507, N381, N76 and RV1 all stop on York Road, a 5 minutes’ walk away.
Bus routes 1, 4, 26, 59, 68, 139, 168, 171, 172, 176, 188, 243, 521, N1, N68, N171 and N343 stop on Waterloo Bridge, a 2 minutes’ walk away.

By river
Boats stop at Festival Pier, going to St Katherine’s Pier, Bankside and Westminster. For a timetable click here.

By bike
Bike stands are located in Southbank Centre Square. Barclays Cycle Hire stands are available on Belvedere Road opposite Southbank Centre Square.

Parking

We have parking available on site, open 7am - 1am daily. Parking fees apply.

Public Toilets

All our venues have public toilets (dependent on opening times) with wheelchair access and baby changing facilities.
Public toilets are provided on Queens Walk beside Jubilee Gardens. They provide 24/7 access, DDA accessible toilets and baby changing facilities. For opening times and more details of these toilets, please visit www.healthmatic.com
