Alejandra del Río is recognised as one of Chile’s most representative voices in the generation of the 90s. She was born in Santiago, Chile, in 1972 and began writing poetry while studying at the University of Chile, where she joined a group dedicated to using poetry as a form of protest. She won her first prize in the Poetry Contest for Unpublished Works organised by the Technical Department of Research at the University of Chile. She currently has a video series on YouTube of her poetry, which plays with lights, shadow and echoes.
