Nathaniel Mellors: Prevented by Language
The Failure of British Visual Culture, 1066 – 2010
British artist Nathaniel Mellors' poster employs the standard BBC script format to suggest a 'trailer' for an impossible exhibition. The absence of images – both on Mellors' poster, and in the exhibition itself – attests, as the artist has written, to the 'collapse of visual culture inside this linguistically convoluted, hyper-administrated culture'.
