Joey Arias

Performance artist and cabaret singer Joey Arias is an icon of the underground New York scene. His career has comprised film appearances and West Village club residencies as well as starring in Cirque du Soleil's Zumanity in Las Vegas and performing with David Bowie on Saturday Night Live.

For this Meltdown show, Arias presents Strange Fruit, in which he channels legendary jazz and blues singer, Billie Holiday, adopting her onstage mannerisms and vocal style with startling accuracy. Arranged by Ben Allison.

Due to the 'Boy George - In Conversation and Performance' event taking place in Purcell Room at Queen Elizabeth Hall at 7pm, the start time for Joey Arias, Strange Fruit has moved from 8pm to a new time of 8.30pm.
