Gruff Rhys
Born and raised in Bethesda, North Wales, Gruff Rhys has carved out an incredible career path as a songwriter and performer, and tonight he performs his album 'Hotel Shampoo' in full.
Having spent nearly 20 years in the million-selling cross-genre group Super Furry Animals, Rhys has sustained a prolific output, releasing two solo records -- 2007's 'Candylion' and 2011's critical and commercial success, 'Hotel Shampoo', in collaboration with Gorillaz and Dangermouse -- as well as receiving a Mercury Prize nomination for Neon Neon's 'Stainless Style' LP, which he wrote and co-produced with Boom Bip.
Gruff Rhys recently featured as part of BBC Radio 6 Music's 10th Birthday at Southbank Centre, and this performance marks a welcome and celebratory return as part of BrynFest.
