Cyclobe + Myrninerest + Derek Jarman Films

Part of Meltdown

Saturday 4 August 2012

ALBION - HYPNAGOGUE - GHOST
Hallucinatory Queer British Paganism

Cyclobe present their first ever UK performance, and only their second show since forming in 1999, performing music from their most recent album, the Pan-psychedelic dream-warren Wounded Galaxies Tap at the Window, alongside haunting new works.

Myrninerest, the new project from Current 93's David Tibet - tonight with composer James Blackshaw - present, in their first appearance, the premiere of their debut album "Jhonn", Uttered Babylon, a hallucinatory and harrowing work about the life and death of Coil's Jhonn Balance. The performance is accompanied by a specially commissioned new film by Davide Pepe about Jhonn using archival material from David Tibet's own collection and photographs supplied by Jhonn's father.

The evening will also feature four super-8 short films by filmmaker and queer artist Derek Jarman, which will receive very rare screenings for Meltdown. Soundtracks for the films have been especially composed for this event by Myrninerest and Cyclobe.
