Voicelab Goes to Indonesia (families)
Join with gamelan musicians Peter Smith and Sophie Ransby for a summer school to explore Javanese gamelan and song.
This three-day course introduces children and families to the beautiful gamelan - the incredible unique percussion orchestra from Java, Indonesia - and a variety of singing styles associated with it. Fun for all the family, you will learn to play the instruments and sing in Javanese.
Each day explores different repertoire ranging from sung poetry to playful children's songs and communal singing. The course culminate in a short informal performance for friends and family.
This course is suitable for adults and children over the age of eight years old. Children under 13 must be accompanied by a participating adult. No previous singing or musical experience is needed, just a willingness to take off your shoes, sit on the floor and have fun!
Please note, this summer school is not available to book online. Please call our specialist ticket office on 0844 875 0070 to reserve your place.
