The Erato Piano Trio make their Purcell Room debut in a concert shared with pianist Sergei Podobedov and clarinettist Peter Cigleris, launching the new CD of David Braid's chamber and instrumental music, released by Toccata Classics.

In addition to Braid's Piano Sonata and Sonata for Quartet the programme includes Schumann's Carnaval and Shostakovich's 2nd Piano Trio. Steve Reich described David's work 'Morning' as 'really honest stuff'.

Recently selected by Making Music's Concert Promoters' Network as featured artists for 2012-13, the Erato Piano Trio is rapidly establishing a reputation as one of the UK's leading young ensembles, praised for their virtuosity, outstanding musicianship and stylistic versatility alike.

Russian born pianist Sergei Podobedov has been described by conductor Gennady Rozhdestvensky as 'a magnificent pianist who possesses outstanding virtuosic skills combined with true musicality and a refined sense of style.'

Peter Cigleris has performed in many venues across the UK and Europe and premiered several new works for the instrument as well as giving performances of concertos by Mozart, Weber, Finzi and Arnold among others. Peter's debut solo CD of English Clarinet music will soon be released by Cala Records.
