In this concert the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment celebrates Handel with its customary vitality.
Over 250 years on from his death, Handel remains one of the most popular of all composers. The programme, introduced from the stage, contains two Concerti Grossi from Op.6, widely considered to be his orchestral masterpieces - muscular and vibrant music which still sounds fresh today. Soprano Elin-Manahan Thomas, whose debut CD was recently released to critical acclaim, completes the programme singing arias from Handel's Rinaldo.
Queen Elizabeth Hall at 5.45pm - OAE Extras. Handel and his world - musical life in London. Admission free.
