Brazil Kitchen

Sunday 22 July 2012

Are you ready to party Brazilian style?

Brazilian Kitchen is a kind of 'pagode'. In Rio and other parts of Brazil, pagode is the word used to refer to the informal samba-jam parties featuring food, drink and lots of good music! Our pagode features not only samba, but all styles of music brought by the Rio Occupation London artists, reflecting their diverse backgrounds and influences.

Formed of names including Alessandra Maestrini, Domênico, Eddu Grau, Pedro Miranda, Siri and João Brasil, this collective unites innovators from different musical tribes, bringing the latest sounds and voices from Rio de Janeiro. They come together for the first time ever in London and are joined by London-based musicians who, all together, serve up a grand Rio-style 'musical kitchen' encounter.

Brazilian Kitchen is presented as part of Rio Occupation London.

Commissioned by Rio de Janeiro's State Culture Secretariat and Executive Produced by People's Palace Projects. Co-produced by BAC.
