Nikita Lalwani
Nikita Lalwani takes us into the strange world of 'The Village', an environment modelled on an open prison, where the women collecting water and the men chopping wood have all been convicted of murder. Arriving in India to make a documentary, Ray, a young British-Asian woman, is drawn to the inhabitants and the line between innocence and guilt becomes increasingly blurred.
This is a gripping morality tale by the author of 'Gifted', a debut novel which was longlisted for the Man Booker Prize.
The event is chaired by writer and journalist Anita Sethi.
