Free: Art by offenders, secure patients and detainees

British artist Sarah Lucas brings a new perspective to the UK's annual showcase of visual arts, film, music and writing by prisoners and others in secure settings.
Presented in a partnership with the Koestler Trust and Southbank Centre, Lucas has selected pieces from thousands of submissions from across the UK's criminal justice system. The artwork can be challenging, heartbreaking, uplifting and provocative, but always inspires in its outpouring of creativity.

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the Koestler Trust. Leading the exhibition tours and helping at events are ex-offender interns, all of whom are aged older than the Trust. Specially recruited by the Koestler Trust and trained in collaboration with Southbank Centre, these exhibition assistants challenge the assumption that internships are for youngsters, and help give a voice to prisoners aged over 50.

See website for details of our talks programme connected to the exhibition.
