Zoe Beloff: A Modern Case of Possession, 2008

Hayward Touring works closely with participating venues from an early stage in the development of exhibitions to maximise curatorial dialogue and exchange and to enhance the impact of each showing. We welcome proposals for new exhibitions and are especially open to ideas for projects entailing variations on the conventional model of a touring exhibition, with opportunities for creative engagement by each venue taking part in a tour. We are currently planning the programme for 2013/2014 and beyond, although smaller-scale exhibitions are organised within a much shorter time frame.

Hayward Touring also supports and provides a platform for UK-based curators through the Curatorial Open, a series of curatorial open calls. Hayward Touring, in association with regional galleries, invites proposals for an innovative exhibition, touring to four UK venues. In 2009, Chris Fite-Wassilak was the inaugural recipient of the Curatorial Open for his proposal Quiet Revolution. The second exhibition in the series, Ground Level, was curated by Kit Hammonds and chosen with the four participating galleries, opened at John Hansard Gallery, Southampton, in July 2010. The next Curatorial Open will be introducing a new model and guidelines and will be announced soon.
