Taking the motion of the modern day disabled athlete, the Paralympian, Simon McKeown uses Hollywood technology to create 3D avatars that invite you to find the beauty, the exotic and the normal within their movements and physical form.
His work stretches in new directions as he takes his artistic vision large-scale, using new technology and 3D software to record body shapes and actions to create an inflatable, 11-metre-tall sculpture of a disabled athlete. Mckeown explores the borders between normality and difference and celebrates the movement of disabled people.
