Concerts are being offered to suit every age and taste, with audience members even taking centre-stage in the orchestras photographs for the season!
At the heart of the season is the series of 7pm concerts, which feature some of classical music's biggest names, including Principal Artist Sir Simon Rattle, András Schiff and Marin Alsop. A fascinatingly varied line-up of music is on offer, including the four-event series Queens, Heroines and Ladykillers which celebrates some of opera's stand-out female roles.
The Works, offering a guided tour to selected masterpieces, continues into its second year offering you a chance to get to know a piece of music from the inside-out in an informal friendly setting. While OAE Tots, for the very youngest music lovers, also returns to Southbank Centre. The radical late-night series The Night Shift is also back, with three events throughout the year.
Whatever the event, free programmes are available every concert: the 7pm concerts always have a free pre-show event at 5.45pm and the season also sees the introduction of new and simplified prices.
