Kate Rusby 20 Year Celebration Concert

Tuesday 23 October 2012

Celebrate with Kate Rusby, the defining voice of contemporary English folk music, whose exquisite interpretations of traditional songs and finely wrought self-penned tunes have won her an audience that reaches beyond the genre. This is entirely understandable given Rusby's expressive vocals that invest whatever she sings with irresistible emotional depth.

2012 heralds a landmark year for Kate, being her 20th year in the music industry. Kate has been concentrating on recording her new album entitled 'Twenty' (due for release in the autumn) featuring special guests to celebrate this anniversary, as well as taking a little time out for the arrival of her second child.

As a highlight to this celebratory year Kate visits Royal Festival Hall to perform one of two special celebratory concerts. This concert echoes the sentiments of 'Twenty' revisiting some old favourites with new ideas, along with a sprinkling of much loved classics from her back catalogue.

As ever, Kate is joined on stage by the talented musicians who form part of her band and to add to the party atmosphere, there are special guest appearances throughout the evening from some of the artists who have contributed to Kate's new album.

Rusby's wondrous singing and hugely engaging Yorkshire wit and the intuitive support of her band ensure that you are treated to an unforgettable concert experience.
