See the shortlisted authors for the UK's premier literary prize discussing their work on the eve of the prize award.

The Man Booker Prize highlights the strength and diversity of fiction in the UK and the Commonwealth. This year's longlist included four debut novels and three independent publishers, signalling new talent and innovation on the UK publishing scene.

The shortlisted authors, as announced on Tuesday 11 September, are as follows.
Tan Twan Eng - The Garden of Evening Mists
Deborah Levy - Swimming Home
Hilary Mantel - Bring up the Bodies
Alison Moore - The Lighthouse
Will Self - Umbrella
Jeet Thayil - Narcopolis

The event is chaired by broadcaster James Naughtie, one of the trustees of the Man Booker Prize.
