Please find attached a photo scanned from an original 'postcard' which I recently came across. I have the original. The person on the left was Miss Elsie Crook (later to become Mrs John Richards) and the person on the right was my Mother, Mrs Joan Pearson.
Both were born in 1920 so were in their 31st year. Elsie lived in Chertsey, Surrey and my Mother lived near Manchester. Both women died in their early 80's. The 2 women met in 1942 in the ATS. They were among the first group of women to be stationed at The Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst.
They remained lifelong friends.
