Southbank Centre is home to the Royal Festival Hall, Queen Elizabeth Hall, Purcell Room and The Hayward as well as The Saison Poetry Library and the Arts Council Collection.

Southbank Centre's wide-ranging programme - classical & world music, rock & pop, jazz, dance, literature and the visual arts - attracts the most diverse audience of any UK venue.

The Hayward

The Hayward is the heart of the visual arts at Southbank Centre. The gallery opened in 1968, and is one of the largest and most versatile exhibition spaces in Britain, renowned for its diverse range of exhibitions focusing on contemporary, modern art and visual culture.

Hayward Touring exhibitions tour to galleries, museums and other publicly funded venues throughout Britain. Each year exhibitions of contemporary and modern art are seen by approximately half a million people in 100 towns and cities.
